Sergiy reqched the quarterfinals of the challenger in Cherbourg before losing to Jerome Haehnel. This pushed Serg's ranking up to 175. After a well-deserved week off Sergiy returned to action this week in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovenia.
Seeded 8th, Sergiy posted a comfortable 64 63 win in his opening round match against Britain's Richard Bloomfield. Today, however, Sergiy went down to Czech Jan Mertl 64 62.
For the win, Sergiy picked up 5 ATP ranking poitns this week as he attempts to reach and surpass his career-high ranking of 156.
